About us

London Catalyst is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. It is the successor to the Metropolitan Hospital-Sunday Fund, established in 1873.

London Catalyst makes grants totalling c£300,000 a year, including:

Our memorandum of association requires the Charity to have two Trustees from religious denominations and one representing the medical or social work profession. The Charity maintains its historical link to London's places of worship, social work and medical professions through its membership structure.

We maintain an Annual 'Hospital Sunday' Appeal to raise funds for our Samaritan Grants programme and to inform places of worship, businesses and community groups of our work. Find out how to support the appeal.

London Catalyst is a member of the Association of Charitable Foundations the UK-wide membership organisation for grant-making trusts and foundations. Our Trustees are always interested in collaborating with other grant makers where we might share a common interest.
